This phone holder, for me, is far better then the cradle type. It copes with my style of behaviour; when in a hurry, I can quickly push the mobile into position and it's there - it's not going to fall off, and once I'm strapped in, the phone can be rotated into position without fear of it losing contact with the magnet.
The holder is quite small, so there isn't the overhang of the cradle to reduce visibility through the screen. I know it's small differences but this is something I notice.
Be aware that the cup is both adhesive and has suction. I would say that the adhesive is much stronger than the suction, so should debris be allowed on the adhesive surface, or should the screen be dirty, it could fail to stick well. When everything is clean it sticks like the devil. I had to reposition the holder after a new screen was fitted and it was quite a struggle to remove it - but, hey, it needs to be secure.
Note: mine is on the windscreen. I fitted one with this type of adhesive cup to the dash and it marked the plastic quite badly. But for screen fitting it's ideal.
Anyway, I'm here again to buy another for a friend.

Does what it’s meant to do. I fix mine to the windscreen otherwise it means sticking a thin metal plate to the dash and fixing it to the plate. The rubber suction end doesn’t really stick to the dash otherwise

This is a good quality item and seems well made. The magnet is strong and easily holds my Samsung A52s in a case. Strength of the suction mount seems to be very good on the windscreen, and didn't fall off even during the recent hot weather. Range of adjustment is also good, so it's easy to get the phone into a good position.
The stalk is firm and holds it's position well. My only complaint is that the stalk is quite short, so if you mount it low on the windscreen the phone is quite far back. Mounting it higher on the windscreen blocks your field of vision, which I think is unsafe. I have mounted it as low as possible on the right corner, next to the A pillar and its less intrusive in your field of view.
I can't mount it on top of the dash as my Tiguan has a cubby hole with opening lid. Overall though, it is well made and does its job well.
