Won't protect back of phone

I went one week without a case while this phone was shipped to me (expected, came in faster than I thought it would). I put the phone in the case immediately. The case itself feels awesome, and I feel it juts out over the screen enough. People have commented how the case look and feels great.
However, a week later I took my phone out of the case, and noticed the back of the phone (which is covered by a glass layer I think) was shattered. The only time I remember dropping my phone was near the bathtub- it fell about 2 feet to the floor, landed on the back with the screen facing up. I don't know that's when it cracked. Now the phone is working fine, the screen is fine, the glass on the back is cracked. I keep it in the case for now, and I figure I'll save up to get the deductible for SamsungCare... This case would have been 5 stars, but I have to lower it to 2 stars- it did not do its job.

Overall, I am satisfied with the phone case. It fits the phone perfectly and securely. The metallic back also helps me to grip the phone better and reduces the tendency to drop it accidentally. Stylish appearance everyday use. Power button on the right is protruding adequately for ease of access.

This is a cool looking case with great quality to support your Galaxy S8+. Is is slim and gives you enough grip. Only criticism I have is that the cutout for the fingerprint-sensor is not big enough to use it very well.
