The speakers sound not bad and the blue tooth hookup works well. The only problem is the AC adapter. The electrical does not work in Canada since it came with one that works in England. I will have to buy a AC converter here for 15 dollars or just run it on batteries.

I have shied away from buying one of these devices in the past because of a fear that they(particularly the smaller ones)won't have enough oomph to fill a room. As the Soundwave was reasonably priced and the only (slight) criticism I could find was that "they are on the large side" I thought it was worth a try. The device is very easy to use, produces a reasonably big sound and would fit comfortably in to a small shoebox so is not too big. I find it perfect for my needs and very reasonably priced. Worth getting a set or two of NiMh batteries (it uses 8 x AA)to add to the portability! I consider the 4 stars that I gave it to be very good - 5 stars would be perfect and I have never found anything perfect (not even me!)

This review is a bit of good and bad. Lets get the bad out of the way first.

The Cygnett Soundwave Speaker, if you are looking for a really portable small speaker, dont get this. it is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Although Portable (Battery or Mains) It requires 8 AA Batteries. The portability is more suited to using it out in the garden for say a BBQ or taking it on a caravan holiday, portable as in taking to work etc, it is too big, there are smaller units on the market.

On the Positive side, I was really impressed with the sound quality of the Cygnett Soundwave and was able to connect it to my i Pad and i Phone within seconds with no issues whatsoever. I use it mainly in my Living Room where it sits nicely on top of my Sky Box under my TV. Even when I move my i Pad or i Phone to my bedroom, the connection is still very good. The sound quality as mentioned above is really good and on a par with some of the more expensive speakers. My flat is small (1 Bedroom) so the volume level of the Cygnett is ideal. Bigger households may require a more powerful unit, however the Cygnett would be powerful enough for most bedrooms or average sized living rooms. On holiday in a caravan it would be more than adequate.

On the Cygnett Dock, Well as the old saying goes, "It does exactly what it says on the tin!" I was really impressed with the build quality of the dock, the weight is also ideal as even with the i Pad in portrait, you just know your device is secure and isn't going to be top heavy and topple over. The adjustable thickness means you can use your device on it's own or in a case (I have an Otterbox for my i Pad).

All in all this is a very nice and very functional package at a very reasonable price. Both the Cygnett Speaker and the Cygnett Dock could easily sell on their own seperately, such is their quality. But as a combined package - perfect.

I was after a speaker system so I could stream Internet radio from my phone, I was previously using a pocket boom, portable speaker, but I just fancied something with abit more presence, I read other peoples reviews on this and it sounded perfect for what I wanted.
After getting it, next day delivery, I couldn't wait to get home from work to try it, I must say it was well worth the wait. After taking about 30 seconds to pair my phone up, I was streaming my music and radio within a couple of moments of getting it out of the box. The sound is very good for the size and you get a good volume without distortion, the range of my iPhone wasn't great, prob about 5-6 metres away, but saying that It was still far enough for me to put my phone on charge and have the speaker where I wanted it.
Overall I am very impressed with this and would highly recommend it, very pleased indeed

I like to use Internet radio and this is fantastic for that and with recharge batteries works great

I purchased this speaker for my work shop as was swayed by the stand. I'm forever having to prop my phone up while to access my music software, so was very excited to just slip my charging cable in and get going.

The reality is that a standard micro USB cable sits to high in the stand so the phone balances precariously with no support on the base sides from the stand.
I had to grind an old cable down to make it fit then glue it in place so the phone sat properly.
Next issue is that my Samsung tablet cable would not fit, so tablet use is out of the question.

Next issue is the Bluetooth pair button. Considering the number of time you will need to use this, why is it so close to the volume buttons? I'm forever hitting it and then I have to power it down to get back to using it again.
Skip and pause buttons would have been a great help. Having to turn on my phone to access it is a pain.

So overall its reasonable value, just let down by some fundamental design flaws.

the first purchase I've made it works just fine ( Samsung Galaxy Note Desktop Charge Cradle With HDMI Out). I do not know about the second one, all I can say is that the deliver is a bit slow

I purchased this speaker as I really liked the idea of the included stand.

In reality though is the stand does not work with any standard USB cable. It makes the phone sit up so high its no longer supported.
I had to hack an old cable down to make it sit lower then glue it in place.

The stand is meant to be compatible with all device cables but the slot was to small for a Samsung tablet cable.

Next issue is the Bluetooth sync button. Its right next to the volume buttons, so very easy to press. Considering how infrequently you need to sync your device, perhaps 10x in the entire life of the speaker it would be much better if it was tucked out of harms way.

Last main issue the connection with my devices. It does not automatically connect when you get near, and this is as it should be but on other speakers you can turn them off/on and they will sync with a device in range.
This speaker needs you to go into your Bluetooth settings on the phone/tablet etc and manually select the speaker. Its a massive pain.

I have resolved the issue by using an NFC tag that will do it automatically for my when I tap on it.

So while it works and is pretty good value, I can only give it 3 stars.

After upgrading to an iPhone 5 I decided to replace my old Gear 4 dock and went for a Bluetooth speaker that can be used with any device. And what a decision!

The sound is great, its easy to pair (tried it on a Note 2 and iPhone 5) and it looks quite stylish. You even get a phone stand with it! Already had good craic with it at parties already.

I bought these Cygnet Bluetooth speakers for the summer barbecues and Camping holidays because they are truly portable. You can power them with batteries however the design allowing for mains powering means I can power them easily from a 12 volt utility battery with a suitable adapter. All my friends have Bluetooth enabled mobile phones with their individual blends of music that they can now share for all to hear through these wonderful compact no distortion sounding speakers. You can also connect directly into these speakers via the 3.5mm line input socket however the sound level via this hook up method is entirely dependent on the source device which is quite acceptable but In comparison via Bluetooth you have full control over volume with the control buttons directly on top of the speaker system and what a sound. Bluetooth pairing is simple quick and painless. Just love these well built good looking Bluetooth speakers and you'll love them too trust me. :)

Needed a speaker for my HTC phone. Have just bought a new SD card so can store my entire music collection on my phone. Dinners with friends, evenings listening to music now greatly enhanced by not having to jump up and down to change CDs every 40 mins or so. Good looking speaker, unlikely to use the battery power source often but handy to know it's there. The video demonstration on the site was a big selling feature. Would be happy to recommend this speaker for Bluetooth enabled phone users.

I was unsure if I should order this but as I was looking for a bluetooth speaker for my kitchen and mobilefun have a 30 days returns policy I thought go for it.

Arrived the next day and was nicely packaged. The stand is a nice extra but I won't personally be using it.

Anyway the speaker doesn't look anything amazing but I didn't buy it to look at. Pairing the phone was easy so I started playing some songs I like. The sound is very well balanced and it has decent bass for the size of it.

I haven't tried it on batteries and probably won't but it is a nice feature to have if we ever get the weather for me to have a BBQ
