Does what it says
105079I bought this to attach an HTC one s to the tv and stream from a media server. It was basically plug n play. Nice quality construction, no adapters needed and does the job with no fuss. Recommended.ewen dublin 12th November 2012 -

In effect, if your device supports MHL, then it should work with this device. It usually will NOT work unless you plug in the charger. Also, if you plug the charger into your USB port on a computer, this may not supply enough to drive the MHL adaptor.
I found it's best to plug the charger into the mains outlet and then into the MHL adaptor. While using your device to show full HD on HDMI, your device most likely will not charge even though the charger is plugged into MHL adaptor - in fact it might lose a little battery slowly. All in all a great product that does what it says and can be re-used between different devices. I carry it and a short HDMI cable with me in my laptop bag so I can easily show my phone on monitors / TVs that have HDMI. Modern mobile phones and the latest generation of tablets are so thin it's not possible to integrate an HDMI port within them. To compensate, many manufacturers have included MHL ports on their devices. These Mobile High-Definition Link ports look and act like micro USB ports, but can also be used with an appropriate adapter to stream HD content and digital audio to an HDMI-equipped TV, monitor or projector. The adapter supports full 1080p playback, so no matter how powerful your device you can be sure this cable is up to the job.

Video playback can be very battery-intensive, especially with HD video. To combat this, BizLink have integrated a standard micro USB port into the adapter, so you can plug in a charger or USB cable and enjoy your high-definition content without worry about if it's going to cut out when the battery dies. Please note, the adapter must be plugged into the mains, you cannot use a computer's USB port for power.
