The dock allows a Samsung tablet (in my case a Galaxy Tab Note 10.1) to sit on a desk in landscape orientation. Not unusual you say ...
The advantage here is that the dock allows power to be provided to the tablet from the bottom while at the same time allowing access to the power and volume controls PLUS having access to the headphone jack. This is not possible with simple tilt and hold mounts.
There is also an additional audio jack at the back which allows connection of speakers (not recommended for headphones; power or impedance issues???). So, slot the tablet in the dock and enjoy a movie!
Note that if the tablet is in a slim case like the Samsung case or similar, it will sit in the dock without removing the case.
